Hi everyone! I've been using SantaBarbaraYP a lot lately, it's a local search engine for Santa Barbara County, and I was wondering if anyone else uses it? I was looking for local services and stores, but I have a few questions. How often is the information on the site updated? Sometimes I've come across old data, like addresses that are no longer relevant. But overall, I like that you can find real local businesses here, and not huge chains like on Yelp or Google. How do you use this resource, and how has it helped you in finding local businesses?

I have been using SantaBarbaraYP as a Local Business Directory for a while now and I can say that it is a really useful site for finding local businesses and services. Unlike larger platforms like Google or Yelp, you can find businesses that are local to your area rather than the entire country or world. This is very convenient when you want to find something close to home, be it a hair salon, auto repair shop or a cafe. Personally, I most often search for home services - electricians, plumbers, builders, as well as stores with home improvement supplies. As for the relevance of the information, yes, this can sometimes be a problem. I have come across several cases where companies have long since closed, but the site still had information about them. However, it is worth noting that in general, the database is constantly updated. I have noticed that most businesses on the platform maintain up-to-date pages, and there is information about opening hours, reviews and even addresses. Ideally, of course, the site should monitor this more carefully, but for a local search engine, this is a completely normal situation that can be put up with. For example, I recently searched for a local farm stand, and was pleasantly surprised that the business's page included details about delivery and assortment, and not just an address and phone number.

I have used SantaBarbaraYP a couple of times as well and I can say that it is quite a convenient site for finding local businesses. It is especially nice that it focuses only on our area and not on some remote or less relevant places. For example, I searched for local shops with local products and was pleasantly surprised by how much information I found. But yes, sometimes it happens that you come across outdated information. This is not very pleasant, but overall the site justifies its purpose.
